Sand in Taufers and its castle

A unique visit

Perched on a rocky outcrop above the village of Sand in Taufers, this fortress is one of the most characteristic symbols of our area and is visited by thousands of people every year.

Today it is possible to visit the castle with a guided tour or even on one's own. The visit includes over 20 rooms and the garden, as well as supplementary panels and films explaining its history.

Built around the year 1100, it has been the location for several films and is recognized as one of the most popular castles in South Tyrol.
